2 Corinthians 3:9 For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, the ministry of righteousness must far exceed it in glory.
Condemnation can kill you. But what if I told you there is an antidote for condemnation available to you? You don't have to continue your life in condemnation, confusion, or punishment. The antidote is here.
The law demands and condemns, but grace imparts innocence though Jesus.
Romans 3:23-24 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
The law points to you not being good enough, but Christ imparts his life to you. If you focus on Jesus and not the law, you will lack nothing. Let's take a look at where the bible let's us know this important truth:
1 John 4:17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.
Romans 10:1-4 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
Romans 7:7-10 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead. Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.
Ephesians 5:14 This is why it is said:
“Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
Awake to righteousness. Look away from the law and focus on Jesus our righteousness. He is in us. With Jesus came the end of the law and condemnation.
Romans 5:17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
You see to be saved from sin and condemnation is the gospel. That Jesus made you right apart from your works and made you right in his resurrection from the dead. He finished it all! All the obedience, sin, punishment, it is all done!
Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
So if you truly believe this gospel, it really is good news! There is rest if you believe this truth. You will have the fruit of righteousness and peace in your life.
Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rest in Jesus because your life is in his hands. He took your condemnation and punishment and took it on himself.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
Romans 3:21-24 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Certainly when you believe this gospel and this truth that the bible is telling you, you will live right. You will live free and be led by the Holy Spirit who lives in you. Jesus lives in you and is there to guide you if you look to him. You see grace (not law) is the impartation of Christ. Christ lives in you...he is the antidote!
Romans 8:10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.
