Psalm 2:1-3
Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
Does this remind you of the world today? Don't fear, God is still on the throne.
Psalm 2:4
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
Psalm 103:19
The Lord has established his throne in the heavens,
and his kingdom rules over all.
The Lord is scoffing at those who attempt to throw off His rule. And when He speaks from His throne, He says:
Psalm 2:5,6
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
“As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
The Lord does not take lightly those in rebellion:
Psalm 5:4-6
For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil may not dwell with you.
The boastful shall not stand before your eyes;
you hate all evildoers.
You destroy those who speak lies;
the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
Take refuge with God in this rebellious world believer:
Psalm 5:11-12
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy,
and spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may exult in you.
For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield.
