"Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
There is much for us to be thankful for. It brings God glory for us to spend time reflecting on His blessings and giving Him thanks and praise. There's a hymn that has a refrain that says, "Count your blessings name them one by one, Count your blessings see what God has done."
A friend shared some ways to "count" our blessings:
Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.
I encourage you to take some time today to make a list of some of the things you have to be thankful for. Let the presence of praise and thanksgiving push out the doubt, discouragement and fear in your life.
